Journey through Northern Laos' most captivating landscapes and living cultures — from the temples and night markets of UNESCO World Heritage Luang Prabang, to the dramatic karst scenery of Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi, culminating in an authentic, hands-on stay at Tai Lue Homestay & Arts, a 1,000-year-old village in Ban Nayangtai. This is sustainable, community-based tourism at its most immersive.

Day 1: (Arrival in Luang Prabang): Transfer to Home Base, a peaceful haven within one of Luang Prabang's expansive gardens, managed with ecological and environmental respect. Meet fellow travellers and settle in.

Day 2:  (Luang Prabang Heritage & City Tour): Morning: breakfast at a local café, orientation covering essential Lao expressions and cultural etiquette, plus an overview of the days ahead and optional volunteering opportunities. Afternoon: guided walking tour taking in the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xieng Thong, lunch by the Mekong, Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham, and the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC). Evening: climb Mount Phousi for sunset, then explore the night market for handicrafts, textiles and street food.

Day 3: (Journey to Nong Khiaw): Morning: scenic drive or boat trip to Nong Khiaw, check-in. Afternoon: lunch, explore the town and suspension bridge over the Nam Ou River. Evening: hike to the Nong Khiaw viewpoint for sunset, dinner at a riverside restaurant.

Day 4: (Cultural & Nature Exploration in Muang Ngoi): Morning: boat trip up the Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoi, check-in, hiking tour to surrounding villages to learn traditional farming techniques. Afternoon: lunch with a local family, visit Tham Kang Cave and nearby waterfalls. Evening: traditional Lao dinner with river views and a cultural performance.

Day 5: (Arrival at Tai Lue Homestay & Arts): Morning: boat trip then drive to Ban Nayangtai, arriving at Tai Lue Homestay & Arts in this 1,000-year-old village. Afternoon: traditional meal prepared by villagers, guided village tour including a visit to the community's weaving workshops. Evening: traditional Tai Lue dinner with a cultural performance of local music and dance.

Day 6: (Village Traditions & Departure to Luang Prabang): Morning: sunrise over the surrounding mountains, rice paddies and temples; witness the local alms-giving ceremony to Buddhist monks; browse the morning market. Take part in a hands-on natural indigo dyeing and weaving workshop with the village's master weavers, followed by a farewell Baci ceremony. Afternoon: lunch in the village before departing for Luang Prabang and checking into your hotel. Evening: dinner at a fusion restaurant blending traditional Lao flavours with modern culinary technique.

Day 7: (Departure): Free time before your onward departure from Luang Prabang.
