Paint Your Own Umbrella
You could always go to Bor Sang, a village near Chiang Mai, and watch the artists create beautiful paper and wood umbrellas by hand. Some are whimsical, others are lovely and classical. The umbrellas fold up many a delighted tourist has brought a few home. Now you can paint your own umbrella, alongside the artists.
The umbrellas are made from mulberry paper that enhances their colorful floral themes. Of course they are intended for protection from the sun rather than the rain.
When you go as a guest of Voluntourism, you’ll spend about three hours, including travel from the city center, exploring the village. You’ll also get to keep your own unique mulberry paper umbrella to remind you of your visit to this magical place.
